What is Sin?
An overview on sin and how to overcome it
By Imam Mubasher Ahmad
"It may seem easy to identify a “sin” in any given
belief system, but when looked at from different religious perspectives, a particular
“sin” in one faith may not be a wrongdoing for the followers of other
religions. The same act could be wrong in one religion, but commendable in
another."
How to Get Rid of Sin
Diverse perspectives on identifying and eradicating sin
By Waqas Malik
"To err is human is a famous established saying, which means
that people make mistakes from time to time. Sin is an error with spiritual
consequences, which results from poor control over human desires and animal
instincts. The recognition of an error comes from the knowledge of it. If
someone doesn’t know that an action being performed is wrong, then a correction
will not occur."
Original Sin
Does the Bible teach all are born sinful?
By Naser-ud-Din Shams
"Original Sin is the Christian belief that all human beings
are born sinful. As the story goes in the Book of Genesis, the first man Adam and
his wife Eve were created sinless and placed in the Garden of Eden. However, a
serpent tempted Eve into eating the forbidden fruit of the “tree of knowledge
of good and evil,” and sharing it with Adam. Consequently, God condemned the two
and expelled them from Eden.
All children born thereafter inherited this sin, sentencing them to eternal
damnation."
